Well this is a story about some scuba guys, from back in the day. Maybe about a year ago in the, Hawaii Fishing News. Some one wrote a store about the legendary divers, of the Big Island. Well in my eyes they left out , the real McCoy's. Growing up, diving and fishing was part of my life. My dad James Toledo Jr. had started diving in the early 70's. At that time he dove with Castle and Wes Kailimai. According to my dad they were the best around, I myself didn't have the pleasure to dive with them. Later in the years, my dads crew changed. There was a fellow named Leighton Beck, who would cheer you up in a heart beat. His style of diving was different from the rest my dad said. He would move slow in the water, but be just as productive, as everyone else.Leighton, and Castle are now no longer with us . But there theory's and some knowledge was left behind, also with great memory's. Now the newest crew, is my dad, my brother-in-law Lee Arquero, Darryl Brown , and my self Keola Toledo. My dad is one of the most wisest men in my life besides the Lord. My dad has been trying to teach and spread his knowledge with my brother-in-law and myself, so eventually we can past it on to our kid's . I just had my first child, and his name is Noah, and we already have plan's for him to be the next boat man. Just like how I was, then my brother-in-law was. Now we just rotate but Noah's day is coming . Well I found some pictures in the scrap book to share with you all. I tried to find the one's with my father but couldn't find any. My father isn't the type of guy to brag about any thing. the only picture I found was of him working, and separating fish in the back ground, getting it ready for sale.Well just wanted to tell of the Real McCoy's. Keep Diving and Aloha From Hilo.
